VALUES
Lacrosse in Spain
Played since 2002 in Spain by a few fans, Lacrosse began to emerge in the country in 2010, when the first national league was played. However, it was not until 2013 when the League and other official competitions were finally established.
The Men's National Team made its international debut at the 2006 World Cup in Canada. Almost a decade later the Women's National Team made its international debut at the 2015 European Championship in the Czech Republic.
Today Lacrosse is a modality that's not recognized by the National Sports Council and a non-federative sport in the country, which is why it officially functions as a non-profit Cultural Association. However, the Association is internationally recognized by the European Lacrosse Federation and the International Federation (World Lacrosse) and is represented at international championships by its men's and women's national teams.
